Assistant Principal Cornet

Andrew Roe

Andrew Roe has performed with some of the most distinguished ensembles across the country, including New York City Opera, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall, Pacific Symphony, and American Symphony Orchestra. In addition, he was Principal Trumpet with the New York City Opera National Company, and attended the Tanglewood Institute for several summers, as well as the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo, Japan.

After graduating with honors from London’s Royal Academy of Music, he moved to the U.S. to pursue his graduate degree in Boston and study with Roger Voisin and members of the Empire Brass Quintet. He can be heard on two of the Quintet’s recordings—Class Brass On the Edge and Mozart for Brass.

Trained in the British brass band tradition, Andrew joined Britain’s acclaimed Brighouse and Rastrick Band at age 16 as its youngest-ever member. For two seasons, he was a member of the River City Brass Band in Pittsburgh, and he continues to celebrate the British brass band legacy with Fountain City Brass Band, where he has been a member since 2024.
