Brian Dobbins is an accomplished tuba performer and educator, currently serving as Professor of Tuba and Euphonium at the University of Oklahoma School of Music—a position he has held since 2003. Renowned for his dynamic teaching and compelling artistry, Dobbins maintains an active career as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer.

He is Principal Bb Bass of the internationally acclaimed Fountain City Brass Band, with whom he has earned multiple national titles and appeared on prestigious stages across the United States and Europe. From 1999 to 2014, he served as Principal Tuba of the Santa Fe Symphony, and he continues to perform regularly as a guest artist and clinician throughout the country.

A passionate advocate for music education and professional development, Dobbins has mentored generations of successful students, many of whom have won positions in elite military bands, graduate programs, and international competitions. He is the founder of several major studio initiatives, including the OU Low Brass Holiday Spectacular and Back Row Boot Camp, which promote both artistic excellence and community engagement
