What to Expect
Congratulations on your decision to select the Fountain City Brass Band to perform during your concert season. What you can expect as a presenter is a staff and ensemble that will be easy to collaborate with and work tirelessly to give you your ideal presentation. What your patrons can expect is a one of a kind, engaging concert experience that will strive to leave everyone smiling.
What is a Brass Band?
A brass band is made up of twenty-five brass players, four percussionists and a conductor. Brass bands combine the musicality and agility of the symphony orchestra with the power of the marching band.
The Program
The Fountain City Brass Band performs programs with a dynamic diversity. One of our goals is to make sure that there is something for everybody on each concert. We will work with you to tailor a program to your specific needs. After the program is finalized we will deliver it, and a final band roster, to you at least two months in advance of your concert. You will not need to print program notes as our conductor, Dr. Joseph Parisi, will give a brief background on each selection before it is performed. We’ve found this to be more engaging for the audience than traditional program notes and allows for the occasional humorous banter between the band, conductor and audience.
Post Concert
The band and conductor are very personable and always take time to speak with patrons at the conclusion of concerts. Usually this takes place in your lobby, within five minutes of the concert’s conclusion, where the band’s recordings and merchandise will also be available.
